It's My Birthday And I Got The Tickets!!!! :)

This afternoon, when I checked my email account, I found this message from Nuffnang:-

Dear Nuffnanger,

Congratulations as you're officially invited to attend the Premiere Screening of Ghosts of the Girlfriends Past due to your fantastic blog post written. 2 tickets have been reserved under your name which will entitle you to bring along ONE (1) guest to the premiere screening.

However, due to regional orders from Warner Brothers, the movie has been rescheduled to be released on the 30th of July 2009 instead of 4th of June 2009. Thus, our Premiere Screening for the movie has to be rescheduled to a later date as well.

We'd like to inform you that the Premiere Screening will now be held on the 23rd July 2009 instead of 2nd of June 2009. Details as follows;

Date: 23rd July (Thursday)
Time: 9pm
Venue: TGV One Utama

Please accept our apology for this delay and thank you for your understanding. We'll remind you of the screening again a week before to ask for your confirmation of attendance. Should you not be able to attend the screening on the 23rd July 2009, kindly inform us by writing to audrey.lai@nuffnang.com .

We are looking forward to see you at the Premiere on the 23rd July!

Yay!!!! It's great to be a gay cat!!! Lol.

Thank you, Warner Brothers and Nuffnang, for a great start to a beautiful day. I can't wait to watch the movie. :)

I Can Relate To Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

Warner Brothers Pictures is giving Nuffnangers a Special Screening for GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST two days before its release in Malaysia. In order to get this invitation, we have to write a post on how we can relate to the movie.

So, wiithout further ado, let the story begin.

When I was one month old, I vowed to love and be faithful to this kitty.  Let's call her "Marmalade". However, when I grew up, I forgot about my vow to "Marmalade" and was available to any beautiful dames that called.

This was my harem of wives and girlfriends. That was me in the centre, surrounded by my harem.  :)

However, having a harem had its hazards, particularly if you're a handsome cat like me. Every single female wanted a piece of me......and the result was......

Yeah! I looked ugly and was even voted as the ugliest cat in the world.

I would have remained that ugly except that one day, my slave turned on the computer and I saw the picture of "Marmalade" and I when we were young.

I hurried over to Auntie Lupie's home where "Marmalade" is.....BUT, discovered to my horror that "Marmalade" has now grown up and is actually a boy, called Ginger a.k.a. Beckham

Oh well, love is blind, and being gay isn't a crime. Also, my coat has grown back. It's good to be gay!! :D

Removing Wu Travel

I am removing Wu Travel banner from my blog as they have yet to pay me. When they approached me to place their banner ad on my blog, they said they would pay me within TWO days of my putting up the banner ad.

More than a week has passed --- it's almost two weeks now, and they have yet to pay me. I've emailed Stella twice, and there is no reply from their side.

This is so different from the beginning, when they wanted their ad on my blog. They respond within a few hours, but now, after having placed their banner ad on my blog, they have chosen not to reply my emails.

So....Stella and those in Wu Travel, I have removed your banner ad until you deposit the money into my Paypal account.

Updated on 31 August 2009
Still no reply nor any payment from Wu Travel. They know about this post, but I guess they have chosen to remain mum.

Unanswered questions from day one which should have warned me:-
Claim #1: They said even if those that came from my blog did not buy on the spot, but bought from them later, they can track because of the cookies they placed in the person's computer.

My question: How do you track that when most browsers removed all cookies when you close the browser?

Claim #2: Even if the cookies are removed, they can track by ISP.

My question: My ISP code changes each time I log online. The modem resets and look for the next available ISP. Also, when you switch internet services, you'll have a completely different ISP. So, how do you counter this problem of the same user not having the same ISP all the time?

Movie Review: Quantum of Solace

I am such a procrastinator. Four days have passed since I saw the special screening of the latest James Bond thriller Quantum of Solace, courtesy of GoMobile, and I have yet to blog about it.

And like any regular human, I have forgotten most of what I wanted to write about. However, a couple of things stuck in my mind.

One, Quantum of Solace is so closely connected to Royale Casino that for those who missed Royale Casino, it might be a little hard to follow the storyline.

The movie literally picked up the story from Royale Casino, where Bond captured Mr. White and stuffed him in his boot. So for those who didn't watch Royale Casino, it's advisable to watch that first. Otherwise, you would be wondering who Vesper, Mathis or Felix are.

Two, there're no Bond gadgets or toys. I hope the producers don't plan to do away with those toys. A Bond movie is not complete without them.

GoMobile GoMobile Go

I just had my dinner, opened up my email, and lo and behold, there was an email from Nuffnang. They are giving away 25 pairs of tickets to bloggers to watch Quantum of Solace, courtesy of GoMobile, The Ultimate Mobile Lifestyle Event of the year. Yay!!

But before I indulge in day-dreaming about Daniel Craig, let me tell you a bit about GoMobile.

GoMobile 2008 is going to be the first, and biggest ever mobile lifestyle event in Malaysia. It will be held at PWTC from 21 - 23 November 2008. Don't be left out. Spread the word and stand a chance to win cool prizes. Go, go join the GoMobile Clique at http://www.gomobile.my/

Now, as you guys know, I am such a die-hard fan of James Bond that I even delude myself into believing that I once worked for Her Majesty the Queen of England until that gorgeous Daniel Craig usurped my place.

Look at my blog, look at my identity. Who am I? My name is Bond, James Bond Kitty, but you may call me Blackie007.

If you don't believe me,  just take a look below. I am getting ready to shoot Nuffnang and their Agent Botak if they don't give me a pair of tickets to a special screening of Quantum of Solace.

Watchout! Nuffnang & Agent Botak!!

So, Nuffnang and Agent Botak, you are hereby held at gunpoint to issue me a pair of tickets. GIVE UP THE TICKETS NOW......lols!!!

Mamma Mia, Mamma Mia, Here I Go Again...My My

Help! I just can't seem to stop singing this song...well, my definition of what singing is.

My hubby thinks it's more like draging a cow up a tree (translated directly from Cantonese). Anyone ever tried to drag a cow up a tree? Or drag a cow against its will for that matter?

Well, not that I've ever dragged a cow or come that close to a cow before, but I can imagine the moooooos of protest..........and that's what my hubby likens my singing to.... Hmmphh!!  Thanks, hubby, love you too.

Anyway, the day that I had been waiting for finally arrived yesterday - the Premiere Screening of Mamma Mia! The Movie by Nuffnang. I made my hubby come home early (early means he gets home at 7:00pm) so that we could have dinner at 1-Utama before the show.

Nuffnang had set up a booth for us to collect our tickets. They had some cool badges, too. Hubby and I took one each.
Above: The ticket   Below: The badge
I was a little disappointed that I didn't see my friend, CazzyCazz there. I kept a lookout, and did see a hip couple making a beeline for the stairs to hall 9, but could not be sure if it was CazzyCazz.

At 9:00pm sharp, the movie began without any trailers or commercials. Yes, they don't believe in wasting the audience's time.

And now, without further ado, let's get to the point of this post....what I thought of the movie.

The long and short of it is, I enjoyed every minute of it, though my hubby found the opening act rather nauseous. He's not one for giddy, girly scenes to be stretched to ten full minutes. As for me, I was just waiting impatiently for former James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) to make his appearance.

I haven't seen Pierce Brosnan's movies for ages, and couldn't help drooling when he finally appeared. He has aged quite a bit, but still looked as gorgeous as ever. However, I must say I have a little difficulty with the "Don Juan" role....

I thought he looked really hilarious when he sang those Abba songs while trying to look like he has some tender feelings for Donna, Meryl Streep's character. Instead of looking passionate, tender and whatever else that comes with lovey-dovey feelings, he ended up looking like he was having some chronic constipation.

And....he can't sing. The whole cast can't sing, as a matter of fact. If you are an American Idol avid fan like I am, you could just picture Simon Cowell giving them the thumbs down. Yes, the delectable Pierce Brosnan, Meryl Streep and others are American Idol rejects....albeit very cute and entertaining rejects.....

Another thing.....it's not very appealing to see women past their prime prancing around with their sagging boobs showing, and generally behaving like teeny-boppers. It would have been a better movie had the producer and director gotten a younger cast, and perhaps filmed it in Copenhagen. After all, Abba is a Swedish group.

But that said, there are two things that I really like about this movie. First, it is obvious that the cast are truly having a great time, enjoying themselves despite the heat on the island (perspiration could be seen trickling down Meryl Streep's neck while dots of sweat formed on Pierce Brosnan's forehead).

Second, you could sense the chemistry between Donna and her two best friends. They are there for her. It really inpsires you to treasure the friendships you have - I would want my best friend to remain my best friend 20 years on.

I Won The Mamma Mia Premiere Screening Tickets!!

I just checked my email, and guess what?? I received an email from Nuffnang that I had secured two tickets to watch the Premiere Screening of Mamma Mia! The Movie next Monday night (22 Sept) at GSC 1-Utama.

Oh man, I am so happy, happy, happy!!! **Running around in circles chasing my own shadow now**

Just to give you a brief background, Nuffnang was giving out tickets to the Premiere Screening to 215 Glitterati members who posted on their blog what they look forward to in the movie....hehe, now all of you know why I posted that post titled "Mamma Mia! The Movie".......it was in the hopes of winning the tickets....!!!

Oh wow, oh wow, let me go dance a little victory dance......I'm gonna watch James Bond sing! Yaber-dee-yaber-dee-doo.

Mamma Mia! The Movie

Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?

Yes, how can I resist this movie. Incidentally, the broadway play first opened its doors to the public in London in 1999 at the Prince Edward theater. It is based on the hit ABBA single of the same name.

The story is about a 20-year-old girl who is preparing for her wedding in her mother's hotel in Greece. She has everything except a father to give her away. So she got hold of her mother's diary and finds that there are three men who could be her father. She invites these men to her wedding believing that she will be able to identify who her father is once she sets eyes on him. And thus, the fun begins.

Now, as you all know, I am a James Bond fanatic. So, how could I pass on a chance to ogle at Pierce Brosnan, a former 007?
I mean, a gun-toting, martini-drinking 007 who could sing?!

Pierce Brosnan is better known for his 007 roles - a cool, sexy spy who remains calm and collected even under the most trying circumstances. It will be interesting to watch him in a role where he does not have his usual 007 toys and cars.

It seems that he did not know what the movie was about when he signed on. The producers only told him that the movie would be filmed in Greece and that Meryl Streep would be starring in it. The former 007 immediately agreed, saying that he would sign on any project that involved Meryl Streep. He described her as that gorgeous blonde that he fancied terribly in Drama School.

Hmm......I can't wait to watch it.
The movie will be released in Malaysia in September 2008.
