Goodness....I'm Certified FAT!!!

As hard as I tried, I really do not understand how I could be considered fat when my weight is within the ideal weight, and my Body Mass Index (BMI) is within the ideal BMI range.

I took one of those auto calculate your height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, pulse thingy yesterday, and was flummoxed at the results.

According to the results, I have too much body fat......but I don't want to go on a diet, I love to eat and I live to eat. It will remove my purpose for being alive if I have to go on a diet......*sweat*.

Where got la ...

The machine must be wrong ...
Must be trying to sell you some slimming products...

I remember taking one in Thailand, it hit the roof, both BMI, Fat analysis .. hahahaha, very "malufying" as many Thai ladies (pretty, slim...) were looking at my results!

where you took this?
i dont really like taking this unless i have to..or during my checkup in the hospital

there was a group who came to my office to do these... very negative results saying like eg if you are 20++ they tell straight at the face you look like 50++ old woman that you couldnt even walk in years to come then they say you change this ..they start introducing the products - CRAPS! i dont believe such!

Vivien,
I took it at Tesco, Selayang. Wah, that's very bad, telling a 20++ person that she looks like a 50++ old woman. Some people think they can push their products by telling you ridiculously negative things about you! Haiz!!

Lupie,
Thank you for your positive re-inforcing statement. :)

Aww...no need to be malu, even if you're really fat, which you aren't, fat is beautiful. Hubby was amazed that the machine didn't shout out in a robotic voice "Get off me, you overweight moron!" because his BMI & weight is many times over the ideal range, hahaha. I think he would have been secretly delighted if the machine were to shout at him. :))

Don't take this seriously. It's not accurate. Doubt your blood pressure is correct too.
Should be fine if you are fleshy and not grossly overweight.
Believe the most important is good health.

look at this chart here:
http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/library/blbodyfatcharts.htm

the body fat ranges are grouped by age and gender. i think the one they gave you is not accurate.

Kerusi:
gosh, you just made me feel like a strip of fa yok (pork belly) -- fleshy!! :D

err....the blood pressure is more or less accurate. my blood pressure fluctuates between 80/55 and 90/60. I had to persuade the NST panel's medical officer who performed a medical examination on me prior to my joining the NST that I've never fainted. He was convinced I was given to fainting spells, based on my blood pressure.

i forgot to mention you can go here to check their calculations:

ms kay poh:
Thanks for the url link! I checked it, and like you said, the body fat ranges are grouped by gender and age. Hubby's and mine have the same ideal body fat (18-27%), and he is not only older than me, but a man....hmmpphh!!!

Thanks for the link to calculate my body fat...will get mum to measure all my circumference!

Oh Oh Seven: The most accurate way to measure fat is the pinch test using calipers over various parts of the body. Measurements are in millimetres and then calculated.

That's your normal blood pressure?

Oh Oh Tujuh : With blood pressure so low how does it get blood up your brain ar? Somemore so tall! :)

Blackie, we are at the same height and almost the same weight!! Kekekek...

I took this test as well in a fitness center and guess what? Ya my result came out to be i am FAT as well! It says i have too much fat contains in my body woh T__T and i ended up signing 2 years contract with them which i hardly go :(

kerusi:
yup, that's my blood pressure on a good day. :(

lupie:
I wonder how the blood gets to my brain, too. Perhaps that's why I sometimes behave like a brain-dead, dizzy blonde.... :D (no offence meant towards any blondes out there, I was only laughing at myself)

cazz:
you're the last person I'd describe as fat!! looks like the machine isn't accurate after all....

Cassycazz and Oh Oh Seven:
Those in the fitness centre may not take the pinch test correctly.
They may have pinched skin, fat and muscle which categorise you as fat. LOL!
Not many can conduct that pinch correctly pinching skin and fat only.

So don't bother about being fat! As long as you are healthy, not obese, you all are fine.

Most of all Be Happy!
